I bought a unit of Proctofoam-HC 5 days ago. After using it approximately 10 times, I notice that the foam started leaking under the wing-tip cap when pushing down on it. What should I do? It is very important to clean the Proctofoam-HC accessories (applicator and plunger, wing-tip cap, topical cap) after each use to prevent the foam from drying and blocking the accessories. Therefore, you should pull the applicator and plunger apart, and wash with warm tap water after each use. Additionally, the wing-tip cap should be removed and cleaned with warm tap water after each use, to allow the foam to reach the plunger for next dosing application. For individuals using the topical cap, it should also be removed from the canister and cleaned with warm tap water after each use. Before my discharge from the maternity ward, my health care professional prescribed Proctofoam-HC because I required a hemorrhoid treatment. When should I start the treatment and expect improvement of my symptoms? Hemorrhoids tend to get worst over time and this medical condition should be treated as soon as it occurs. The goal of the treatment is to alleviate symptoms as quickly as possible and to avoid the reoccurrence of these symptoms.
What are the features that make Proctofoam-HC a preferred choice in treating hemorrhoids? Proctofoam-HC is delivered in a unique mucoadhesive aerosol foam.
